Only use a licensed ATF - they have an EA or SEPA permit number. Check the GOV.UK website to verify they're legitimate.
You'll need:
The ATF must provide a CoD within 7 days. This proves you've scrapped the vehicle legally and protects you from future liability.
Complete the V5C/3 section of your logbook and send it to DVLA, or do it online at gov.uk. This stops you being liable for the vehicle.
Contact your insurance company to cancel your policy. Any remaining road tax will be automatically refunded by DVLA once they process your notification.
Heavier vehicles = more scrap metal = higher value. Vans typically fetch more than small cars.
Scrap metal prices fluctuate. Check current rates - steel, aluminium, and copper values change weekly.
If parts are salvageable (engine, gearbox, wheels), you might get more money from a breaker's yard.
Easy access increases value. If recovery is difficult, expect to pay collection fees or get less money.
We collect cars, vans, motorcycles, and other vehicles. Licensed and legal disposal guaranteed.
